About Dreyerbu

See more images in the Image Gallery Dreyerbu is a large cabin situated in the heart of Sirdalen approximately two hours drive (80 km) from the city of Stavanger. The cabin was formerly owned by the company Dreyer Aksjeselskap, but it has now been taken over by the association called Stiftelsen Dreyerbu. The association is responsible for maintaining the cabin, and it also ensures that available capacity is being hired out to people interested in spending some leasure time here.

The cabin is situated in a scenic environment by the Sinnesvannet in Sirdalen as shown on the map.

During the winter you can choose from a wide range of winter activities at the nearby skiresorts √Ölsheia, Fidjeland, √Ödneram and Tj√łrhomfjellet, or embark on a journey along the many kilometers of well-prepared tracks in the area. Throughout the year the surrounding area invites you to realize memorable outdoor experiences in the extraordinary Norwegian nature. You can read more about activities further down on this page.

Here you will find that so many different activities are beeing offered that even the most active person will find new challenges to embark on. Apart from the classical winter actvities, here are some of the things you could do.

Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations must be followed when hiring Dreyerbu.

1. Smoking
Smoking inside the cabin is prohibited.
2. Open Fire
Wood heating is allowed and wood must be provided by the tenant. Wood can also be bought at Joker Sinnes / GP Tj√łrhom.
3. Cancellation
You will be invoiced for any cancellation later than 1 month prior to the scheduled arrival unless the cabin can be hired to someone else in the exact same periode.
4. Cleaning
The prices for hire assumes that the people hiring will do the cleaning themselves. If proper cleaning is not conducted, an additional cost of minimum NOK 2000,- will be added to the original invoice.
5. Use of Shoes Indoor
Only designated indoor-shoes are to be used inside the cabin.
6. Waste
Waste is to be removed after your stay and transported to the waste bin by the petrol station close to Svartevannet.
7. What you need to bring
These are some of the things you should remember to bring while staying at Dreyerbu:
  • Bedsheets and Covers
  • Quilt or Sleeping Bag
  • Washing Powder
  • Dish Washer Liquid
  • Toilet Paper
  • etc.

Please make sure that you leave the cabing in the same condition that you would like to find it.
